Hello, and thank you for visiting my website.
Since you are here you must, like me, be devoted to cats and kittens, although I must confess to being a relatively recent convert having previously had a house full of dogs, with, along the way, a selection of ponies, goats ,sheep, ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, gerbils, pigeons, fish and barn owls – but no cats!
My husband in particular was convinced that cats were austere, aloof, and too independent to be reliable and affectionate pets, but that all changed when we purchased the redundant farm buildings here at Hawbush and found to our surprise that the deal included upwards of six farm, and almost feral, cats. These animals were used to fending for themselves but soon discovered that humans could not only be trusted, but were a ready source of food, warmth and all that was required for an infinitely more comfortable existence. Now nearly ten years later, several of these cats are still with us, and make it perfectly plain, when shown an open door, that they have no wish ever to visit the great outdoors, and particularly a farm yard, ever again!
Subsequently, I was introduced by a friend to the Turkish Angora breed, and was immediately struck by their lovely pure white fluffy coats and remarkable laid back affectionate nature. The breed also has several unique attributes such as a penchant for swimming, and the occasional appearance of a cat with different coloured eyes. They have proved to be ideal house cats and during the three years or so that I have been breeding them, have proved very popular.
Very recently I have become involved with Ragdolls, who display many similarities with Angoras, particularly their fluffy coats and calm affectionate natures, although these attributes are even more pronounced. They also display a much greater range of colours and markings, for those who prefer something a little more varied than snowy white.
Please now look through the site where you will find pictures showing the range of colours and markings which we expect to have available.
